January 31, 2009 · Leave a Comment

As of today, I finally put my blog right into my website -  I won’t be posting here any longer.  I’ve migrated all my past posts to the new blog also.

Hope to see you there!  http://www.lopsandcavies.com/

New website coming soon

January 18, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I love to procrastinate.

My new website should be published soon. I’ve also switched web platforms from Windows to Unix.

I am almost finished with my current start-up website for a friend – check it out – we’ll be adding content often!

New Computer

August 15, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Well last weekend I did get the new computer installed and everything transferred over……rather seemlessly in fact. The only exception was my two main websites – I must not of copied the files correctly because only my old, old websites transferred to the new computer – eeekkkss…..

Until I figure out what I did wrong, and fix it of course, no updates for my main website.

Off to school to register my last two high-schoolers!

Contact Update

August 11, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Well I got a different computer and will begin the process of switching over to this this weekend.  Since it is a different operating system I will be lacking some software for it, plus it will take me some time to get it all networked correctly.  I suspect I will be unable to check email or even get online while this is going on.  I’ll post here when I am back online.

Merry Christmas!

December 23, 2006 · Leave a Comment

As Christmas 2006 is rapidly approaching I can’t help but wonder how some of my friends are doing- I think of them often and hope their holidays are joyful.

This has been a brutal year for many; the long stretch of high fuel costs has affected almost every aspect of daily life, plus add in that employers are cutting back on health insurance, benefits and wage increases (although these business owners and their managers sure don’t seem to be taking the hit very hard…..), so the person who was just ‘queaking by’ last year finds life a daily struggle this year.  I know of many people in this situation: just normal, everyday, hardworking people who can’t get ahead any more – 2007 has just got to be a better year!!

I hope that anyone suffering can find some comfort during this holiday season – it can sometimes be a challenge to appreciate what one does have.

It was 5 years ago on Christmas morning, that we rushed my dad in for emergency surgery for a ruptured bowel, a surgery he bravely survived, only to eventually give up the fight on February 2 after a long stay in the trauma and life support center.

You would think that the passage of time would dim this tragedy, but I find myself remembering those days, in vivid detail, sometimes stronger now than when his death was so new.

I can only hope that all my dear friends are doing well this holiday season, surrounded by the warmth of good friends and family.   Please look around you and take the opportunity to tell your loved ones how you feel about them-life is way too short

Anyhow, my own meloncholy is sure to pass with the coming of the new year – and I am really looking forward to showing my Polish rabbits in 2007!  My does were unsuccesful with their December litters so we are trying again for Jan or Feb litters – I surely want some to take some to the ARBA Convention next October!

Merry Christmas

Surely Winter Is Coming….

December 1, 2006 · Leave a Comment

What nasty midwest weather here….snow, blowing wind and us Wisconsinites haven’t even gotten the brunt of this recent storm – I heard south of us, some towns are plowing through 12 or 13 inches of snow!   Winter is coming…..so are the holidays.  Have you been good for the Chrismas Pudge?

HO HO HO have you been good for the Christmas Pudge?

         HO HO HO!

Nasty Midwest Weather!

November 10, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Yesterday it was so mild, I was outside working on outdoor projects, all the while in just a T-shirt and lightweight pants: today the road is covered with icy sleet, it is now snowing and my van slid all over when I made a quick trip to the store….plus a bitter cold wind is just howling.

And I like Wisconsin?

Hopefully this will clear out and melt before we decide to hike down to Iowa this Sunday for the rabbit show.

At least it is Friday, I suppose I could just bundle up and watch TV all weekend if nothing else.   At least Badger Hockey is playing tonight-against Denver, I think.

Thankfully we don’t have a lot of baby bunnies to contend with.  Our lone kit is just about 2 weeks old now and has a nice fur coat started, plus his cage is in a warm part of the rabbit area.  Sure been an up and down year with the weather…..

Stay warm and enjoy the weekend!
